This video is a tribute to my late husband, Captain Brian J. Bugge.
This film documents his 2017 Transpacific voyage in our 36' yellow sailboat, 'Stay Gold' and shows the (literal) ups and downs of life at sea and the bonds forever forged because of it.
The journey took 21 days with a crew of four men, all seeking something - they returned to land changed men. Brian was a true captain who has now returned to the sea that he so loved.

A Tribute
About Brian
Husband. Father. Sailor. Captain. Diver. Adventurer.
These words offer a slight glimpse into the man Brian was to so many of us, yet he was much more. Never before has a man given so much of himself to his family, his friends, his country and his community, setting an example to those of us he left of how incredible life can be when you live it fully.

Brian's motto was "No Bucket Lists" -tomorrow isn't guaranteed, so take that trip, sign up for that class, pursue your dreams, today. Live a life you will remember, which he did. His life will forever be remembered by us as one full of adventure, laughter, passion and most of all, love.

Brian died at the age of 35 in a tragic scuba diving accident off the coast of Honolulu, Hawaii. He loved his wife, children and family nearly as much as life itself, with sailing and scuba diving a close second. This scholarship is dedicated in his honor to encourage others to chase after their dreams just as he did.

The Stay Gold for Brian Bugge scholarship fund inspires, encourages, and supports military veterans who want to pursue their dream of learning to scuba dive in a safe environment.
Vision
The Stay Gold for Brian Bugge Scholarship Fund believes that military veterans need and deserve the opportunity to pursue their passion outside of their military service. A lack of money should not be an obstacle to a veteran striving to achieve their goals.
Brian Bugge chased fervently after his dreams and encouraged others to do the same. This scholarship promotes his brothers and sisters in arms to do the same, in a safe learning environment.
